Following on from the tragic passing of Cllr Ken Gregory, a by-election for both the TDC and KCC ward seats he represented on Thursday 11th January 2018.
We are delighted to announce that our candidates hoping to become his successor are Liz Hurst (Kent County Council- Birchington & Rural) and Reece Pugh (Thanet District Council- Thanet Villages).
Liz Hurst- KCC Birchington and Rural Candidate
Liz has lived in Birchington since the 1960s and is very passionate about the local area. Not only is Liz in the heart of the community as a local business owner within the High Street but she is also a Parish councillor and enjoys working with her colleagues to put on events and initiatives that benefit all of the community. Liz aims to bring common sense to a range of crucial services under the responsibility of KCC; from giving young people the best possible start, taking care of our rising elderly population and making sure our streets are safe.
Reece Pugh- TDC Thanet Villages Candidate
Reece was christened in St Nicholas at Wade church and currently lives in Sarre, he is true local village lad. Reece shares Ken's passion and determination to get things done. Reece has lots of experience of helping and support people with issues in their community through his work for an MP. His energy, enthusiasm and attention to detail would also be a great addition to TDC.
